Her Story
Ginny Conforti is an educator, entrepreneur, and advocate for child-led, experiential learning. With over 24 years in education, she has become a leader in progressive, Montessori-inspired learning environments. Known for her warm, hands-on approach, she blends structure with creativity, fostering curiosity and meaningful connections with children and families.
Education & Experience
Ginny holds a degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Montessori teaching certificate. She has taught in Montessori, IB, charter, public, and international schools. Recognized as Teacher of the Year by United Neighborhood Network Charter Schools in Chicago, she is passionate about creating learning environments where children feel confident, capable, and inspired.
Building Community & Supporting Families
As the founder of Harmony Learning Center, Ginny built a nurturing space where children thrived. During the pandemic, she created a learning pod that supported 35 children with online learning—allowing parents to work while she balanced it all, including caring for her own baby. Her deep commitment to families made her a trusted figure in the Lincoln Park community. She continues to collaborate with children’s businesses in Chicago, finding new ways to support families through education.
She has been featured by The Chicago Moms Network and was a speaker at International Nanny Training Day, where she shared insights on child development and meaningful learning experiences.
A Unique Approach to Learning
A world traveler, Ginny has lived in and visited 12 countries, bringing a global perspective to her teaching. She also world-schools her 6-year-old daughter, integrating travel and hands-on experiences into their learning journey. Her approach is rooted in: Her teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a nurturing environment where children feel seen and valued, fostering curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning. She believes in making education interactive, joyful, and hands-on, encouraging creativity and imagination in everyday experiences.
Her love for exploration was sparked by childhood stories of her great-grandfather, Irving “Speed” Wallace, an adventurer and author of Mexico Today, a book written to offer a deeper understanding of Mexico’s rich culture and history. Ginny carries forward a deep appreciation for culture, curiosity, and storytelling, weaving these values into her work with children. These stories fueled her passion for travel, culture, and storytelling—elements she weaves into her work with children every day.
Beyond the Classroom
Ginny and her husband split their time between Chicago and Mexico, embracing a lifestyle of adventure, family, and learning. A mother of four, she understands the joys and challenges of parenting and believes in creating educational experiences that feel both meaningful and practical for families. When she’s not teaching, she’s spending time in nature, writing poetry and children’s books, or exploring new places with her loved ones.
